ABOUT US

OKC Latino Young Professionals Association (OKCLYP) is dedicated to developing, connecting, and empowering Oklahoma’s fastest-growing demographic. OKCLYP exists to provide a culturally supportive environment for young professionals to access mentoring, networking, professional development opportunities, and resources to thrive personally and professionally.

Our organization is built on four key pillars: Mentoring, Networking, Professional Development, and Resources & Community. We are fulfilling our mission to advance opportunities for Latinos and Hispanics in Oklahoma by identifying gaps in representation and connecting qualified, passionate leaders to opportunities that position them to be change makers and decision drivers. Through our partnerships, we prioritize sharing information that will benefit the OKCLYP network and the larger Latino and Hispanic communities in our city, such as career and educational opportunities, funding sources, board service, professional recognition, civic engagement, and business opportunities.

The OKCLYP network is woven into the fabric of our community in many ways and encompasses professionals from every level of public, private, and non-profit
organizations. We are entrepreneurs, financial experts, marketing professionals,
educators, attorneys, public servants, engineers, and so much more! OKCLYP is a
Latino leading network in Oklahoma City that is creating opportunities for generations to come through meaningful partnerships and innovative connections.

OUR HISTORY

Oklahoma City is the 20th largest city in the United States and the Latino and Hispanic population is growing rapidly, yet, as of 2020, there was not an organization focused on comprehensively developing Latino and Hispanic leaders. Recognizing this leadership gap, our Founder and President, Miriam Campos, founded OKC Latino Young Professionals (OKCLYP) to connect existing leaders and develop a pipeline of new leaders in our community. Formally established as a non-profit association in 2022, OKC Latino Young Professionals (OKCLYP) is led by an engaged Board of Directors who are dedicated to serving our community, driving positive change in our city, and advancing opportunities for Latinos and Hispanics in Oklahoma.

"As the Founder of OKC Latino Young Professionals Association, it has been a dream come true to establish an organization that connects passionate Latino professionals driving positive change in our city. Recognizing there is an existing leadership gap, OKCLYP will continue to expose talented Latinos to opportunities and be known as the leading Latino Professionals network in Oklahoma. OKCLYP takes pride in developing leaders for generations to come."
